Licenciada em Psicologia pela Faculdade de Psicologia e Ciências da Educação da Universidade de Lisboa, em 1990.

Mestre em Políticas e Gestão de Recursos Humanos pelo ISCTE com uma dissertação intitulada “Relações entre grupos e influência social: o impacto da categorização e da interdependência” em 1995.
-
Doutorada em Psicologia Social e das Organizaçõespelo ISCTE com uma tese intitulada “Concertos e desconcertos na procura de um mundo concertado: Crença no mundo justo, inocência da vítima e vitimização secundária” em 2001.
ACTIVIDADES DE INVESTIGAÇÃO MAIS RECENTES

Tem realizado estudos sobre a teoria da crença no mundo justo, nomeadamente na relação que esta crença tem com a vitimização secundária, bem como sobre a relação entre a crença no mundo justo e o bem-estar psicológico. Coordena um projecto financiado pela Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia PDCT/PSI/55709/2004 denominado “Percepções de justiça face à vitimização entre pares na escola” em colaboração com Ana Maria Tomás de Almeida (Instituto de Estudos da Criança, Universidade do Minho).

Coordena ainda a equipa portuguesa de uma Acção Integrada Luso-Alemã financiada pelo CRUP e que decorre em colaboração com a Universidade de Martin Luther.
